Scheisse

Practice day # 2 was a light wind affair. It called for 4-8 but was more like 0-4. Last night we enjoyed some great helmsman ship from a good friend of mine,Elliot.

We left the dock under diesel power infused with a Yuengeling. Hoisted and tacked our way down the Cooper towards Mt.Pleasant. This we have down like any AC team.

Got the chute up and flew it perfectly. Had such good angle so Katie picked up speed on her own apparent wind.
Nice.
Sun is setting.
Gorgeous night.
Start to practice jibes.
We get the hang of it.
We start to nail them.
One more.

Chute gets torn. A crap ending of a great sail and an even better night of camaraderie. Shit happens. Sail maker is to call me tomorrow about how many $$$ needed and possibility of getting it back by Friday for the race.

Race we will regardless, Katie still has 2 sails to mess with but we might find ourselves to be in the cruising class.
